A few questions

Hi there.I suffer with blepharitis which in turn causes dry eyes which makes my eyes very sensitive.Just a while ago while I was in the bathroom I felt a sudden wet kind of sensation in the corner of my eye near the tear duct.At first I thought it may have been toliet water that splashed in when it was being flushed but come on,it wasn't that.I have gotten a similar feeling in the same part of my eye since and it has felt uncomfortable since.Any idea as to what this could be?

Also, when I was checking my eye it seems that the colour in that eye seems to be darke than that in the other.Maybe it has always been like that and I have just noticed.I don't know. Also, and this may sound crazy and it may be in my head but the same eye looks like it may be protruding a bit more than the other.I could be totally wrong though.

Okay you have a lot of unconnected things going on in those paragraphs. Take them one at a time.

1. Blepharitis does not cause dry eyes but dry eyes can cause blepharitis. Both subjects blepharitis and dry eyes have been discussed at length on these forums. You can access them using the search feature and archives. you can also go to my home page and read some of the articles I've written about them.
2. Iris color does not change normally during life. However as we get older the cornea can develop a gray ring around it (arcus) than can make the iris look different than when we were younger.
3. Protruding eye(s)  is called "exophthalmolos" and requires an investigation by an Eye MD ophthalmologist. Make an appointment to see one. When you go in take some photos of your face taken over the past 15 years so the Eye MD can see if this is new.  Exophthalmos can represent thyroid disease, eyelid problems even orbital tumors.

Thank you doctor.I will make an appointment for my eye doctor tomorrow.Does the first complaint sound like dry eyes to you?
blepharitis and dry eye share a host of common complaints: hot, burning, dry, gritty, irritated, red, scratchy, blurred vision made better by blinking. In blepharitis small scales like dandruff can flake off the lids into the eyes. One of the best new treatment of blepharitis is frequent use of Ocusoft Plus Platinum  see: http://www.ocusoft.com/ocusoft-lid-scrub-plus-platinum-foam-50ml-2  and one of the new best artificial tears is Retaine available at Walgreen, CVS and perhaps Walmarts although there are many excellent artificial tears availaable.
