I am a 65 yr old female, in good gen. health. Normal BP, lipids,
ESR and CRP with a dx of AION/Partial BVO OD.  Dr. reports
few scatlera hemes, trace disc edema, CWS inferior to fovea,
venous(looks like??) stasis/ischemic CVO.  My question is: does
the CWS indicate some other disease or is it all part of the AION
BVO and what is your interpretation of the report.  My doc says
there is no treatment for this condition. Presc. an asirin a day
for circulation.  |Thank you for you response.

AION is a ministroke of part of the optic nerve.  This is not treatable though in some instances, it can improve on its own.  It can be a marker of vascular disease such as hardening of the arteries and your internist may want to check you for this.  Branch vein occlusions are also associated with vascular problems like high blood pressure.  Vision reduced from a vein occlusion can also improve sometimes on its own and sometimes with laser treatments.
It sounds like your ophthalmologist is taking good care of you and you should keep follow-up with him.
