AVASTIN

I am 33 and I have just received my 3rd Avastin injection in almost 4 years. I was curious to have your imput on how your patients have reacted to this.   I have high myopia which caused my bleed in 2007. The first shot held for three and a half years. My second shot was January 2011 and my last shot was a week ago (May 11).  

SInce I had to have them closer together does that mean it didn't work as well this time or is it just how it can be? I have read various post about how soon it works, what is your general timeline to patients? How often do you normally give the injections?

One final question. My upclose vision was still pretty good when I went in this last time, it seems even clearer now and I don't really see the dark fuzzy spot to bad up close, more fuzzy than black.  However from a distance the space seems more dark than fuzzy, why  is this?

Your final question cannot be answered without examining the eye.

3 avastin injections in 4 years is a tiny number. Some patients receive monthly injections for over a year. Treatment can go on for years depending on what its being used for. Also improvement is often seen within 24-48 hrs in some cases while in other cases no improvement ever occurs.
