Adult Onset Myopia Progression

Adult Onset Myopia Progression

Does anyone have experience with significant progression of myopia during adulthood?  I know that "adult onset" myopia is fairly common, but from what I have read, it usually progresses slowly if at all.  I got my first prescription when I was 25 and over the next 10 years, it has changed literally every year, going from -1.5 to -5.25 at my last appointment.  The optometrist whom I last saw indicated that this was not the norm but didn't seem all that concerned otherwise and said that the progression eventually will stop.

Yes the progression will stop just like all kids stop growing taller. You are not "highly myopic".

If you are not happy with glasses see a corneal Eye MD ophthalmologist and ask about contacts or lasik surgery.
