Had my cataracts replaced by plastic lens recently & yesterday when I went for an eye test I was told that I had 'drusen' & early stages of macular degeneration. At 76 it's not expected that all's 100%, I've had a quick google for the condition, but would like to hear from anyone that's got similar condition.Or can enlighten me further. My mother went blind in her 80's, but am unaware of what her cause was. Seems there's a genetic link. For a long time I've noticed that in low light conditions the central vision's not functioning as it once did. ie If I look at a star directly it 'disappears', if I look to the side I can see it. In good light I have no problems with central vision. The grid test went well. Advised to wear good sun-glasses in sunlight. Anything else I can do to stabilise the eye's degeneration ~ my diet's good, never have taken supplements or plan to unless there's proof that such things are not marketing related. Thanks, George
