Amblyopia + farsighted= extreme eye strain??!!

HI, when i was 18 i found out at an eye test that i had a slightly weaker left eye, they said i was just more farsighted in that eye and the other and that glasses would correct it, but ever since i have worn glasses i am troubled be awful eye strain in my left eye. the vision in the left eye is also still poor, as if everything is dark and italic looking. i have been to several opticians, had over 6 eye tests had more than 3 visits to the hospital to see eye doctors and orthoptists. they have told me i have a slight lazy eye but it shouldent cause me pain. but i am troubled always when i read, use a computer ect. its has been almost 4 years since i have worn glasses and the pain can get so intense that i feel sick from it. its a big problem in my life and it is making me very fed up, i even considered asking if i could just have it removed. also to mention that in all my eye exams they have said my eye itself is perfectly healthy but my left eye cannot focus well at all. im not really fussed about vision right now, i can see.. but the  intense pain is a problem. any suggestions? thank you very much for your time.

NO ethical Eye MD will give even a momen't thought to removing a sighted eye.

See a neuro-ophthalologist they are the Sherlock Holmes of eye care.

Ask your present Eye MDs to refer you.

Or a pediatric ophthalmologist.  It sounds like you my be under-corrected in your left eye (often done purposely in adults with different refractive error in each eye without previous correction, to avoid intolerance of the prescription), and are developing spasm of the focusing system, leading to strain.  A large enough difference to cause amblyopia (one diagnosis often referred to as "lazy eye") could do it.  Eyes with amblyopia often do not exert a lot of focusing effort, and a significant enough under correction could lead to problems like you describe.  Certainly, there are other possibilities as well, and you should get it checked out.
