Amblyopia due to myopia

Amblyopia due to myopia

Dear members,
my son who is 3 year 9 months has been diagnosed with amblyopia. His left eye is amblyopic and myopic.
Right is good and has 20/20 vision.  his 3D/binocular vision is 70% good (according to PO).

I was told he has long eye in left. His glasses prescriptions are :
        sphere cylinder axis
OD  plano    +1        90
OS   -8        +4.50   90

He is patched for a week now. He is patched for 6 hrs a day. I will visit PO after 6 weeks of patching.

My question to parents/experts/members:
1. Will he able to see world through left eye?
2. Will his myopia stay at this level or will it get worse?
3. Do you know any one whose myopia decrese over ages.

When I ask him today to help me reas street name, he could only read a 'H' in caps and could not read other alphabets that followed H.

I am very depressed that what will happen to his vision. please help

1) His vision should improve in his left eye.  He is still young and this was caught early.  How well he sees depends on the the amount of patching.

2) His myopia may progress-it usually does not get better with age.

3 See 2.
