Any cure or recommendation for optic nerve damage?

recently my brother met an accident and head injury was happened.
now he is alright but he lost his right eye vision, we consult a doctor there they said some blood clout in the eye and they did surgery, after the surgery they said retinal nerve breakage. so after 4 days they wanted to do surgery again.
before this surgery we consult some other doctor he said optic nerve damage and he never get vision.but here after surgery these doctors saying he will get vision.whether he will get vision or not ?

This depends on the type of injury and surgery.  Decompression can help  If there was an fracture involving the optic canal.

i don't about the type surgery. they did the surgery for optic nerve injury.
now the i vision percentage was 30.
Doctor said "After the surgery we filled some oil in the surgery place,so after 4 or 5 months we have to clean up the oil then the vision will be normal".
here my doubt is , is there any side affects because of the oil or any other?
