Astigmatism and Glasses

Can you correct astigmatism with glasses without changes in the power of the lenses? The prescription notes that I am +25 -75 x14. I think this is not a big change as I can see fine during the day in bright sunlight. However, the astigmatism is causing ghosting vision in low light. This is a new prescription and the trial lenses they gave me seem to stress out my eyes. While the new glasses get rid of the vision issues, I am wondering if the new prescription could be causing problems.

Thank you. I will consider the PRK procedure. Is it relatively safe over the flap (I realize that there are always risks with any of the procedures)?

You can also consider PRK on top of the flap.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have only had the glasses a few days so it may just take time. I will also try to lessen the astigmatism. Unfortunately, it seems like another Lasik try is out of the question. There is so little to correct and the fact that I am still dealing with some other eye issues makes it unlikely to have anything else done to the eye at this time. Thanks again.

You should consider a touch up or recheck the prescription and/or cut down on the astigmatism.

This is following Lasik surgery (off of glasses for 1 year now) and my eyes prior to the surgery were -3.25 for contact lenses. As you noted, it is a minimal prescription but when I drive at night or am inside the images split and I see one image on top of the other. It gets better when I am closer and worse the further back I stand. It is also more noticeable with lights than dark lettering on a light background. Therefore, I am only looking to use the glasses at night or inside in some cases for the strange images.

This is a very minimal prescription.  What was your previous prescription?  You may need time to adjust the new prescription.
