Atropine Eye Drops

Atropine Eye Drops

I have a litlle boy who is 8 years old. He has a bad right eye and in order to get his right eye stronger he has been prescribed Atropine Drops. We were directed to put one drop in his left eye every morning monday thru friday. The dr said this will force his right eye to work and end up making it stronger. I put a drop in on Friday morning and tonight suinday night his eye was still dialated. Is this normal? Do you think he should still use a drop everyday or is it still working days after putting it in considering the fact that his eye is still dialated?

Yes, it takes over a week for the dilation of atropine to stop.

There are different methods of using atropine or patching.  Discuss this with your doctor.
