Avastin injection

I am trying to find out the typical numbing proceedures for an avastin injection.  Is it mandatory to receive some method of numbing before the injuectoins?  Is there ever a case when you would not want to perform this prior to performing the actual injuections?

I can't imagine NOT wanting the numbing procedure done!  I have had the Avastin injections 5 or 6 times now.  They numb your eye by using drops over and over for about 15 minutes, then use something else with a q-tip directly on the spot where they will inject you.  It's an uncomfortable feeling when the needle goes in, but it's just for a second, and no pain!  I would think it would be a matter of course, because what if you flinched from the pain?  With a needle in your eye??!!

It varies from a few to more than 20.  It depends on the case.

The eye are numbed by drops, gels or small injection.  It depends on the preference of the patient and the doctor.
