For complicated cataract surgery, you may want to visit New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. It's a top 10 eye hospital in the US and doctors there routinely perform complicated cat surgery. Call them and they'll hook you up with a right doc.

My mother who is 68 years old and lives in India, has been diagnosed as needing cataract surgery. I was wondering if someone could give me a ball park estimate of how much this surgery would cost in the US . She does not have Medicare or insurance. Alternatively, would it be possible to purchase a replacement lens and ship it to India to have the local eye doctors do it for her?
Thanks

First ?  All costs: surgeon, tests, surgery, drugs, surgicenter charges, etc  $3000-5000/eye. You may be able to negotiate a cash discount.
Second ?  NO
