Blinking problems

Good day everyone!

I'm a 19 year old guy and I have a severe problem blinking problem. It all started in the fifth grade( I was 11 then) when I got my first computer. I spent a lot of time playing games and after a while I noticed that I started blinking more than normal. My doctor said that staring at the monitor for too long can dry out my eye so I need to blink more in order to moisturize it more. I took some drops for a while that increase the ammount of tears my eyes produce, but that didn't really help. I'm not sure anymore what I can do. It's so annoying, I blink like a maniac and everyone thinks I'm a superfreak :(

1. See a neuo-ophthalmologist (a Eye MD physician with special training in neurology). You can go to www.aao.org and use the Find An Eye MD to locate one in your area.  You need to be sure you don't have blepharospasm or other eye problems.

2. If the neuro-Eye exam is negative ask the neuro-Eye MD whether he would recommend a neurologist or (don't take this personally) a psychiatrist as many of these non-organic blinking problems are "tics" or mannerisms.

Perhaps your family physician might help you locate a similiar specialist in Slovenia.
