Blown pupil that does not constrict to light

Dear DR HAGAN,

I was reading your web site last nite i realized you specialized in blown puplis traumitic mydriasis.i was struck in the eye with a roulette wheel marble as it was shot from the roulette talbe over two years ago.i was diagnosed with tm. i had no never damage, the doctors beleive  it is the sphincter muscle my pupil is very round and fixed it does not quiver to any light used by a doctor or have any movment at all. even when i used the eye drop call pilo. with your experience as a doctor is this herd of not haveing any movement at all with the pupil. iam confused. because two eye doctors hace said contrasting theories. my question to you if is the sphincter muscle as been injured with the pupil still be able to constrict. do you hve theory as to why my pupil willl not constrice or even quiver to light.

                                                          sincerely

You have a "blown pupil" it could be that the sphincter muscle was totally paralysed, or the nerves to the pupil that constrict it could have been completely damaged, or very high pressure in the eye after the injury could have done it.

You might want to look at contacts that have a pupil on them and an iris color
