Blurred Vision in Right Eye

by amandanegus, Oct 01, 2009 05:53PM
I am 19 years old and over a year ago I started to have trouble with my eye. At first it was tunnel vision, but now it is completely blurry. I have been to several different eye doctors in my area and two different retina specialists. No one can seem to find out what the problem is. It is only my right eye that is causing some problems, the other eye, as they tested is perfectly fine. They tested the blood vessls in my eye by injecting me with orange dye and taking pictures twice and a few other things. They want me to go  back in to do the test again, but I dont have insurance and dont want to pay that much money for them not to find anything once again. They tried to give me a contact, which did not help my vision at all. Now it is having a hard time focusing on things, which is causing me to get migraines easier than I did before. I really just want to know what to do. Should I go see a Nuerologist? I'm running out of options. If you have anything to help, PLEASE let me know!

Some tests that might be helpful include OCT, fluoresceine angiogram, visual field test, corneal topography.  I suppose a brain MRI at some point might help and neurololgist sometimes use visual evoked potentials.  If everything turns out normal, count your blessing and hopefully the problem will not worsen.  Sorry but sometimes a lot of diagnostic tests and even second opinions are needed to unravel these mysterious cases.

I just wanted to say also, which I forgot to mention, is that I have blue streaks that go across my eye when I am trying to fall asleep. I think I may also have what they call floaters, but only occasionally. Thanks
