Blurred Vision with new Rx

Blurred Vision with new Rx

Hello, I've seen many questions and answers related to what I'm about to ask, but I think I may be looking for something a little more specific.  I have recently gotten a new Rx, with a stronger Rx in  my right eye, and stronger astigmatism in my left eye.  For the first day, everything seemed ok, except the astigmatism correction (which always takes me time to get used to).  On the second day, in both eyes, everything was blurry!  I have gone back already and spoken with the Optometrist about this, but it seemed she was only concerned with my "brain" not accepting the astigmatism correction.  She checked my vision and my lenses and nothing had changed.  I have since gotten a new lense in my right eye for the astigmatism, which helps with the pulling sensation i was feeling, but everything is STILL BLURRY.  I'm at my wit's end!  The next time I go the Dr I know I will end up in tears! What is going on?

It can take a few weeks until you get used to the new glasses.  However, vision should be better than your previous glasses.  There are other problems than just the prescription. New glasses can have the wrong optical center or the base curve may be different due to a change in the index of refraction of glasses.  If all are ok, then there may be another problem in your eye.
