Blurred central vision in right eye with head ached

I am a 27 year old male and started having blurred central vision in my right eye a week ago today. I have had a constant headache since i started having eye trouble. When i blink or close my right eye, it seems like is a sunspot that wont go away. My vision is somewhere around 20/700 or slightly worse in both eyes. I know the optometrist has said my eye is longer that what it supposed to be. I have an appointment in 2 days with the ophthalmologist for an OCT. I was wondering what could be the cause of this and is it going to be permanent.

Dear hickdale,

I would seek immediate care with the retinal specialist and obtain a recommendation on the best course of action.

Good luck! I have the same thing and its called myopic degeneration. The blood vessels are treatable, but not curable. I wish you the best of luck.

i went to the ophthalmologist today and was told there were blood vessels growing under my macula and causing it to be irritated and have to go to a rs on Tuesday for an iv angiogram and treatment. the oct showed that my macula did not have the normal dip in it but a big hump where the dip was suppose to be. i am hoping it is treatable.
