Blurred vision

Hi all,
I am 62 yer old male.
3 days back i suddenly got some blurred vision in my eyes.
i could see some wavy blurred vision with some lines.
I suddenly approached the doctor and he asked me to wait for 2 weeks.
He did a scan in my eyes,and said the reason the problem was due to bleeding in my eyes.
He classified my problem under the Vitreous section(but he do not give me the exact reason).
after 2 weeks he asked me to come back so that the bleeding heals,then for some laser treatment.
Can you plese tell me what problem i exactly have and what are the treatments to be taken?

What is the averge time period for open blood vessel in the eye to heal?
