Blurry Right Eye and Vertical Double Vision

Blurry Right Eye and Vertical Double Vision

Playing basketball the other day and got socked on the right eye pretty good while going up for a rebound.  Hurt quite a bit at first but it is gradually getting better.  Went to the emergency room and then to a local ophthalmologist.  They performed some tests (CT scan as well) and could not find anything major.

The problem is that my right is still a bit blurry and when I open both eyes I see vertical double vision.  The Ophthalmologist said it should go away after a week or so but I am not sure if I need to get a second opinion.  As of now the eye does still a bit sore and double vision is bothering me quite a bit so I have my right eye covered.

Dear mallard906,

It does sound as if you were checked for orbital fractures; however, I would go back to the eyeMD to determine the cause of “blurriness” and double vision. I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD specializing in oculo-plastic surgery.
