Blurry vision when tilting head with new prescription.

I went to the doctor to get my eyes checked and my prescription changed from
R   0.00  -1.75 X180
L  +0.25  -2.75 X010

R  +0.25  -2.00 X002
L   +0.25  -2.75 X180

I then bought a pair of glasses of the internet , did my own PD which I measured at 58mm. When I got them I could see a bit blurry form my left eye, right eye seemed good. If I would tilt my head a bit clockwise I could see good from my left eye, if I would turn counterclockwise it would get even worse. The right eye it was the opposite if I would rotate clockwise it would get worse. With my old prescription I could see much better from my left eye and even if i would rotate my head my vision would still be good. I decided to return them since I figures I got the PD wrong and/or they were cheaply made. I went to an optometrist and they ordered the new lenses for me and I noticed they measured my PD and after four attempts they measure it at 54.5 mm. When I got the new lenses it was better than the internet glasses but still the same problem. I went back to the eye doctor too see if he made a mistake but after retesting my vision and the glasses said nothing is wrong but gave me no explanation as to the difference. I went to the optometrist who ordered the new prescription and she said I might need some time to adjust to the new prescription and if i wasn't happy they could put back the old lens.

So why in my left eye which the only change from my old prescription to the new was a 10 degree difference do I see better with my old prescription? Also why the change of vision when rotating my head? With my old lenses I could rotate my head 90 degrees and the vision would be the same. I mean if I lie down on the couch now I see a bit blurry because my head is tilted with my old lenses this would never happen

The important thing is to make the changes while you can do it at no cost or low cost under the warranty. You don't want an expensive pair of glasses you don't like to wear.

The fall back is always put the old comfortable RX on the lens in your new frames.

So far I have had then for five days and there might be a slight improvement, however when I rotate my head its still the same The most annoying thing is that unless my head is straight or if I lie down on the couch and watch tv it gets blurry and this is still what I don't understand. If I rotate my head and this somewhat changes the axis of my eye relative to the glasses then why was this not the case with my previous prescription where I could be lying down or rotate my head any which way and still see perfect. I mean I kept the same frames and just had the lens changed and the only prescription difference in my left eye was an axis change of 10 to 180 and yet there seems to be such a difference. I have been wearing glasses for 30 years and have never experienced this before. It seems I will go back to my old RX.

There is very little differnce in those RXs. Note this has been discussed many time before. Glasses RX is one of over a dozen different variables in glasses. I compare it like this: you have a closet full of shoes that maybe are all size 7 but they all feel different. I can look in my closet and have maybe 14 pairs of shoes and each feels different.

When you rotate your had you are rotatining your eye somewhat and changing the axis of your eye relative to the glasses.

you will need to work this out with the optom and the optician. If you're not getting better you can see if you can get your money back or have your "old" RX put in your new frames.
