Bright dots in vision, they look real

I was in the shower this morning and as I looked up all these bright firefly-esque dots were in my vision, like glitter. It looked real, it was not "floaters" and it was not hard to see. It went away after about ten seconds. It scared me, especially after a website said something about retinal detachment. Do I need to take a trip to the hospital or am I overreacting? I hit my head pretty hard but it was a couple weeks ago, so that probably has nothing to do with it..right?

To the hospital, and right now.  A shower of sparks kind of lightshow is something you need have checked out.
