Bubble Post Virectomy

Bubble Post Virectomy

I had a vitrectomy for a fully detached retina six weeks ago. The surgeon said the bubble would go away after three to four weeks. It is six weeks post surgery and the bubble is still there. I am wondering if this is normal. Should I get a second opinion? The bubble got smaller for about four weeks but then it stopped getting smaller.

Let your retina surgeon know.  It should continuously be getting smaller.  If it looks the same or like it is getting bigger over the last two weeks, something elso could be going on.  Call and get a repeat examination to put your mind at rest.
