Burst Blood Vessel in left eye for nearly 2 years

I have had a burst blood vessel in my left eye for over 2 years or longer now, I have had my eyes checked and I wear glasses for reading etc, I have been told that there is nothing to use to make it go away and with time it will go, but nothing it still there and it does not look nice at all if I put make up on it makes it more noticeable, I have been told I have dry eye in both eyes and to use Systane, I really want it to go and I have search the web to find a solution but I cannot see anywhere that any clinic can get rid of it, do you know of any clinic that does this I know its cosmetic and maybe thats why the doctors are not telling me there is ways to get rid of it, its right in the corner of my eye and stands out so much,

Many thanks for your advice, yes my GP was not interested to send me further, and my optician said it was a burst blood vessel so I will see a private ophthalmologist, at least I now know there is hope for me to get rid of it

From what hundreds of posters have told us here its hard to get the NHS to do anything. Good luck getting them to do something that likely is cosmetic.  You likely will need to see an ophthalmologist in private practice clinic.

Thank you for your reply, I think it could be a prominent vessel, and I do hope that I can get rid of it, I will see and eye MD opthalmologist, I appreciate your reply.

A Broken blood vessel on the surface of the eye will not last 2 years. Red blood cells have a life span of about 120 days so that not blood that has been there two years. There could be some blood pigments still there or a blood vessel non malignant tumor (angioma) or just a prominent vessel.

See an Eye MD ophthalmologist with a specialty of cornea/external disease for a proper diagnosis and a review of your options. Find one at www.aao.org
