Burst Blood Vessels in the Eye

by Skeeney, Nov 06, 2008 02:07PM
My husband has been having blood vessels in the whites of his eyes burst on a regular basis for a while now and he hasn't gone to the doctor. He has slight pain and pressure in the eye and then the blood vessel will burst. He has had his blood pressure taken around the time of the vessel bursting and it has been fine. Should we be more concerned?

Dear Skeeney,

I would definitely recommend that your husband see an eyeMD and then, his medical doctor. Multiple episodes of subconjunctival hemorrhage may indicate a medical condition such as hypertension, bleeding disorders, blood thinning medicines prescription or over the counter.
