Hello. I am 25 years old. I have lattice degeneration. I have gone to see a couple of retinal specialist about this. I asked them if they know how long I have had the disease. But they said it is impossible to tell. However, when I went to get a second opinion from another retinal specialist, he said I have had it since I was 7 years old. Is this possible? If the other doctors can't tell, how can he? Thanks.

I do not believe the duration of lattice degeneration in a specific person can be determined. Its incidence increase with age.
