Can anasthesia cause blurred vision

I had surgery 3 days ago on my leg and was put under on general anasthesia.

Today my vision is still blurry.  Is this normal?  How long will this continue?  Has anyone else had issues with blurred vision after anasthesia?

When I spoke with my doctor he just said he wasn't sure, and if I was extremely concerned to go to the ER, which couldn't have been any less helpful.  Also, I tried to call the hospital and they would not let me speak to the anasthesiologist.

This discussion is related to anesthesia vision change.

Yes this is very concerning. If your vision is still blurred tomorrow try and contact your surgeon and have the surgeon get a emergency eye consultation. If you see an Eye MD call tomorrow and try to get the same exam. Get some artifical tears such as Refresh, Soothe, Opteve, etc and use hourly.

There are some serious possibilities. you could have had a corneal abrasion from the corneal drying while you were out, or you could have a blood vessel blockage in the eye.

Start your calls tomorrow. Don't wait till Monday. Your surgeon should help you get proper care.
