Can floaters cause difficulty with an eye exam?

I started having really bad floaters about a year ago. It obstructs my vision and makes it hard to read, use the computer and focus on objects. Especially with white or bright backgrounds. I have had two eye exams in the past 6 months. During both exams I had trouble reading and focusing on the letters on the exam, even after the lenses were adjusted (You know, "better one or two") Could the floaters have interfered with my ability to clearly see the chart, even after the lenses were corrected? The last doctor was getting frustrated because I had a hard time seeing the chart clearly. I didnt think about a connection until after I left the office.

No floaters do not interfere with the refraction (glasses testing).   So if they could not make you see good with glasses testing then it would be necessary to think of some disease process: cataracts, disease of the cornea, macula, optic nerve that was causing the poor vision.   The kind of eye doctor you need to see is an Eye MD ophthalmologist.

Thanks for the information and help rule out one possibility. I will schedule and appointment with an ophthalmologist as soon as possible.
Best of luck. If you have time and inclination come back and post what you learn.
