Can not wearing of glasses leads directly to the deterioration of eyesight

Can not wearing of glasses leads directly to the deterioration of eyesight, whether it depends more of the specific case: shortsightedness or astigmatism?

Depends more on age. From birth to perhaps age 11 or 12 not wearing glasses for significant refractive errors can cause poor vision (amblyopia) and eye misalignment (strabismus).  After say age 15 not wearing glasses will not lead to permanent reduction of vision or eye disease

Please give references to the answers you have given me. I introduced the matter to Polish optician and he said that those "15 years" is nonsense, I have make an appointment for the next oculist.
