Can the scar from an injury require surgery?

by ruthie4788, Nov 03, 2008 04:57PM
I have been treated for the last two months for a corneal ulcer that was infected with a fungus from a swimming pool.  Thankfully the worst of the worst is over.  The injury is in the middle of my eye right on my pupil and now that it is healing I am noticing a serious vision change in that eye, the doctor said it could happen due to scar tissue forming.  What will have to be done when the scar is completly formed?

You should be under the care of a cornea specialist.  It may take several more months for things to settle down. Then the cornea Eye MD can discuss what treatments might be necessary such as lasik to the scar or some form of corneal transplant.
