Castor oil eye drops?

I've been hearing that castor oil can get rid of eye redness and dryness, by instilling a drop of castor oil in each eye. I was wondering if this was true, and rather if it were a safe method?

Thanks

When you are scared, upset, frightened angry your body releases chemicals like adrenalin that dilate blood vessels. Your operated eye blood vessels are more sensitive and probably more numerous. Keep cool.

I will pass on your suggestion to my surgeon, thank you.
I was also wondering, I find that when im calm and relaxed my eye is white. However, when I get nervous or stressed, my eye (where the surgery took place) becomes red. Is this normal, and what is its cause?

Thanks again for your quick, helpful responses. You've been a great help!

You will need to ask your surgeon. Perhaps a mild steroid such as lotemax might be used under supervision.

Ok, thank you. Is there anything else I can do for redness, especially after surgery? My doctor told me to wait up to 6 months to a year to know the final result - but im concerned the redness will never go away. Is there any solution?

Forget the castor oil and use standard artifical tears, gels and ointments. IF really bad use Restasis.
