Cataract Implants in Both Eyes

Dear Doctors:

I just wanted to add to the complaints of others who had one lens implant done and then the other.  The cost of glasses is expensive after that.  I reused old frames and Optometrists sold me glasses frames that were extremely expensive as well as lenses that were high priced.  Cataract patients are becoming targets at their weakest moments when they cannot see well enough to do activities of daily living.  Seeing is not cosmetic or optional.  We need our eyes and to charge a lot of money for every lens you need after the operations and not give patients a discount is using the patient.  Insurance should cover at least glasses lens replacement care while the patient is recovering from surgery.

You were the one that bought the expensive glasses. You could have got basic less expensive ones.  Also after cataract surgery the glasses RX rare changes, if you are having frequent changes find another eye doctor.

Thank you for your comments.  I did get another doctor.

I need glasses frames that are strong and last a long time because I wear them everyday.  I am extremely myopic.  Glasses frames that last are more expensive.  The cheaper models break with continuous daily wear just from opening and closing them every day.  In our country the better product always cost more money.

My doctor is  good, but my eyes are weak.  He told me they don't issue a final glasses perscription because the eyes do change slightly after surgery.  My perscription went up after the surgery (Vitrectomy and Cataract Surgery).
