Cataract Post-OP Changing Vision

Cataract Post-OP Changing Vision

I had cataract surgery 3-24-09 (left eye-distance vision IOC) and 4-7-09 (right eye-distance vision IOC). A few days after right eye surgery my right eye vision, every morning after waking, becomes both blurry and hazy (near and far) with some redness, a condition that lasts until noontime, then my right eye vision (distant) is good to excellent. The left eye is fine. There is slight irritation in my right eye while the vision is poor. The doctor's office staff says to wait a few more weeks, then come in. Can you explain why my vision is poor in the morning hours, but only then? I am 64 years old.
    Thanks in advance,
Dan

Your doctor should definitely be your primary source of information.

Did you get stitches in your right eye? I had stitches in one eye that definitely caused more irritation.

And my eyesight varied (and still varies) depending on eye dryness, how tired I was, whether I had been drinking enough fluids, lighting conditions, etc. If you have any questions or doubts, follow up with your doctor until you're comfortable with the answers.

You need to see your surgeon sooner.

No stitches, I just have blurring and irritation for 3 hours or so in the morning, only in my right eye (April 10 surgery) and only in the morning. I will call the surgeon tomorrow, Dr. Oyakawa, and thanks for the advice.
