Cataract Surgery & Zoloft

Dear Doctors,

I am having cataract surgery in one week.  Also, my medical doctor just started me on Zoloft (I took the first 25 mg yesterday).  I read on the internet today that Zoloft can increase eye pressure.  Could the Zoloft have a negative impact on my surgery?  I am wondering if I should stop taking the Zoloft and wait to start it after the surgery.

It's too complicated to explain but zoloft may only raise IOP in a person with occludable angle (maybe one in 3000) so it should be safe to take. you can ask your surgeon also
