Cataract at 37 after Lasik- Mono vs Multifocal

I was diagnosed cataract on LE some months ago and it is developing very fast. I can not see anything with my left eye and intend to do surgery as soon as possible. My ophtalmologist goes for muitifocal, but I went to another doctor who said monofocal was best because I had Lasik to correct myopia eleven years ago. I am 37 and do not use glasses, but I could use for short distances if necessary.
I dont know which IOL is better for my case. I think I still have a long time before having to use glasses for short distances, so if multifocal gives me a good vision (even if not perfect), I would prefer it, but I am concerned about the previous Lasik.
Does any one had a Multifocal IOL  at such a young age?
What would you recommend??
Thanks a lot.

That's a tough question and should be made on an individual basis based on your preferences.  You should read the previous posts regarding multifocal lenses on this forum and related blogs.  You should be aware that the lens calculations in your case may be more difficult to calculate after lasik.  This means you may need glasses to correct your vision no matter which lens you choose and you may be wasting your money on the multifocal lens.
