Cataracts at the back of the eye

My Dad is 67 yrs old and has been told the he has a cataract at the back of the eye. He suffers with High blood pressure and Diabetes (non insulin dependant). He says that some times he gets double vision in the one eye. Is there any treatment for this, and is there a possibility that he could go blind? His optician has told him not to worry. Thankyou. Do not take the word of an optician about this. Find an eye medical Dr of ophthalmology for your Dad.

With your father's age and medical conditions (especially diabetes) he should be under the care of an Eye MD physcian (ophthalmologist) not an optician. Ladytalking is right, see a Eye MD get a referal from his MD.
