Caught in the middle

Caught in the middle

I had a ReStor lens put in my left eye in December of 2010.  My right eye had a cataract one "glare line" away from being ready.  The surgeon pressed upon me to not get corrective lens for my left eye; to give it time to get adjusted.  When i went back to my optometrist he "hit the ceiling" that i had this type of lens and became quite upset and negative with all the problems with them.  I had to argue to not have corrective lens for that eye and refuse.  then I had the cloudiness of that left eye and the surgeon did laser on it.  Again he pressed that it may take up to 6 months to adjust and NOT to have lens.  I talked my optometrist into trying a contact for my right eye and then glasses with a clear left lens.  In March 2011 i had a huge film over my left eye and went to my optometrist who said it was floaters and that only corrective lens could help.  Which it has but I still don't feel that eye focuses very quickly with the film getting in the way.  Glare has become a bigger problem and my optometrist ways it's probably my right cataract getting ready but doesn't want to see me for a year.  I have been put in the middle of these two men and know i need a second opinion, but don't know which to go to -- an opthamologist or another optometrist.  I had a bad fall several weeks ago and i know it was related to  my eyse and depth perception.  I'm only in my 50's.  What do i do?  Thanks!

Go to another ophthalmologist who has experience with specialty lens implants.  Optometrists usually lack the experience and knowledge to deal with surgery related issues.
