Choice of lenses - Crystalens comment

Comment on having chosen crystalens.  I have always been nearsighted.   I love to read.    I should have considered this  this before choosing crystalens.  Their adds seem to suggest that reading ability is not included, but you might get lucky.  If you do not get this reading ability, you will need to wear glasses non-stop, and will depend on them like a crutch.  This, after having paid a fortune ...

None of the presbyopia correcting lenses provide a complete range of vision.  Some of the mutifocal can give better near vision than the Crystalens.  However, there are draw backs with glare and halos.  Also, if you develop macular problems, the vision will be worse than a monofocal IOL or Crystalens.  Some multifocal IOL patient may require an exchange.  The crystalens patient may need readers for some print.  Results on all these lenses really depend on the experience and skill of the surgeon.
