Chronic Unilateral Conjunctivitis?

OK,

I have been suffering from unilateral conjunctivitis for several months and I am at my wits end.  I have been given an antiobiotic (tobradex), but all this seems to do is make it even worse.  It seems to be just the inside of the lower eyelid (not the top) involved and the white of the eye.  I am otherwise healthy and am very much bothered by this.  Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

You have, by definition, a chronic unilateral conjunctivitis. There are many causes of this (I'm assuming you do not wear contacts, if you do that is the cause 99.9% of the time).

You should see an ophthalmologist, specifically if available a cornea-external disease ophthalmologist. You can find one at www.aao.org
