Doctor says that at the same time that Cataract Surgery is performed, the Pupil can be stretched to correct an ongoing, long term Miosis problem. If so, and assuming the Pupil remains fixed, how large a stretch and what Pupil size is appropriate?

If the pupil is small, it can be difficult to remove the cataract safely.  In this case, the pupil can be streached.  There are many ways of doing this and usually, the pupil returns to a "mid" position such as about 4 - 5 mm.  In some cases, the pupil works very well after streaching and it is hard to tell it was streached at all.
