Commotio Retinae recovery time?
I recently got hit in the eye with a soccer ball and was diagnosed with Commotio Retinae.  No retinal tears were present but a small hemorrhage was seen.

Its been about 4 days since the injury and I still have a significant blind spot (cannot see anything even when shinning a light into my eye).  The blind spot does not affect my central vision, but is somewhat banana shaped just to the left of my central vision extending downward.

Do I have any hope of getting my vision back?  If so how long does it usually take?  I've read that vision can be restored spontaneously, but I got the impression that this was for patients with blurred vision and not field loss.

Commotio retina means swelling of the retina.  The degree of damage to the retina can not be determined for some time.

Retinal damage from trauma is usually permanent and cannot be fixed.
