Concerns after Toric Lens Implants

Concerns after Toric Lens Implants

Had cataracts removed and astigmatism corrected with toric lense implants in both eyes, April 2008. Good for the 6 to 8 months, and then my vision has gotten worse. Now have cloudy, blurry vision, glares from lamps, very senstive to bright sunlight, halos around lamp posts. Main concern, is the waterfall like waves that happen when I look straight ahead.

Eyes ache most of the time, dignosed with dry eyes and doctors says that I now have blepharitis, in January 2011. Have permnant tear duct plugs in.

Has anyone had similar experiences. What did you do to help fix these problems? Thanks for any advice. PA

You need to see an ophthalmologist.  Some of these symptoms are probably due to a secondary cataract which can easily be treated is common.  However,  the wavy line may indicate a macular problem such as macular degeneration.

Thank you very much for the answer and help back. Really appreciate it. I am going back to Dr. Dean Dornic this Friday who implanted my toric lenses.  I will ask him about secondary cataract and macular problem.

About 1 1/2 ago I had two retal detachments. Just a few more questions, sorry, could my permanent tear duct implants have come out? When I look straight ahead in addition to the wavy lines I have started to notice flashes of light to my left.

Is there anyway that the toric lense implants are not in the right placement and have shifted and that's why I'm having so much trouble? Thanks so much! PA

Yes, it is like a delayed image after I blink. Eye Doctor told me recently that everyone has that and is normal?? Never had it previously. Let me know if this helps. Thanks, PA

its called Irdotomy holes when they put the lens in they make an incision slide it in and stitch it up at the top of the eye, these holes dont completly heal and as you blink it reflects on the lens as white horizontal line or lines.can look worst on a sunny day or looking at a laptop etc, this problem is not recognised by surgeons, but is a problem to alot of people like me,it can be solved with micro cornea tattoo you need to check out this link of hundreds of people getting it is  (google search)  9198.170.234.66/discus/messages/39/42449.html?1283361438 please let me Know if this is what you got
