Contact Lens after Cataracts

Contact Lens after Cataracts

I had eye cataract surgery on my right (dominant) eye about 2 weeks ago.  This eye had a Crystalens AO implanted.  I am seeing about 20/25 per my appointment two days ago.  The doctor indicated that due to my astigmatism it may be necessary to utilize a contact lens to achieve 20/20 vision and ultimately may be necessary to perform lasik to totally correct this problem.  I wore contacts for about 20 years but have been wearing glasses for about 15 years after that.  I am wondering whether hard or soft contacts would be better at this point.  I have only worn hard contacts in the past but am open to soft lens if they would be a better solution for someone who had recent cataract surgery.

Your astigmatism is minimal if you can see 20/25.  This can usually be corrected with a Limbal relaxing incision.
