Contact and glasses problems

by pixie_chick, Sep 02, 2009 11:30PM
I have recently tried wearing glasses and contacts. I desperately need to use something to help my vision. I can't seem to find glasses that don't cause me to have a lot of pain behind my ears. I have had my glasses adjusted, tried different styles, very light weight glasses, you name it I've tried it. I am very sensitive to ANY kind of pressure on my head even on my nose. So I thought I'd try contacts. I can't go more than three hours before the contacts get cloudy and feel like they are a suction cup on my eye. When I take the contact out they are SO dry that they fold over and stick like glue to themselves. That is with using eye drops constantly. I also have tried the drops to help get the contacts extra clean from protein deposits and have tried the drops that you can apply while wearing the contacts that clean the protein off and add lubrication. I have tried three different types of contacts. The last ones were Acuvue oasis.

I was recently diagnosed with narrow angle glaucoma and had eye surgery on each eye to relieve the pressure in Jan 09'. Right before that I had corneal erosion. I have a astigmatism in my left eye and lazy eye on the right.  I'm only 35 years old. My Dr. says I will have to wear something to help my vision because I shouldn't be driving legally with my left eye as bad as it is. I feel like I'm at a dead end....please tell me there is some hope in sight. (no pun intended)

Thank you,
