Contact wear making my eyes red?

by bonquiqui, Sep 09, 2009 05:48PM
I've been wearing contacts for about 7 years now, and I've never had a problem with my eyes looking bloodshot or red before, but about a month ago I changed contact brands, and since then my eyes have been red and feeling more dry than usual by midway through the day. I haven't changed cleaner brands or anything else, just contacts, but these were supposed to be the most advanced for oxygen diffusion. Is it possible I have an eye infection or problem with my eyes, or does it sound more like it's the change to a different brand that is making them red?

I'm not an eye care provider, but it sounds to me like your new brand of contacts is what's causing the problem.  Maybe the base curve of these lenses isn't quite right for you.  In any case, you need to see your eye care provider ASAP before these contacts damage your eyes.
