Corneal Abrasion w/out Redness

Corneal Abrasion w/out Redness

Hello,

I wear my contacts overnight; they are designated as being safe to leave in for 6 days.
I am exposed to a computer for long periods of time.

I received a slight sharp pain in one eye while at the computer, similar to getting an eyelash in your eye. The discomfort lingered and I took my contacts out. The affected eye has stayed watery with the tear duct enlarged. I thought I may have been developing conjunctivitis but no infection has become apparent.

After research I narrowed it down to a Corneal Abrasion. Looking in a magnification vanity mirror there was a visible "scratch" on the border of the pupil. Without being an expert I can only infer that this is the issue. However there is no redness.

Have I misdiagnosed the issue or is it possible that Corneal Abrasions can be void of redness?

You may be right, but It could also be a corneal ulcer which wouldn't be read very early on.  You should definitely stop wearing the contacts until this is resolved and if not a hundred percent better by tomorrow, go see an ophthalmologist.  If pain gets worse or vision decreases, go to emergency room for antibiotic eye drops.  As a matter of habit, you should stop wearing contacts overnight despite what the companies tell you.  By wearing them overnight, you significantly increase your chances of getting a bad corneal infection.
