Corneal Dystrophy?

Corneal Dystrophy?

Hi,
I was born with Corneal Dystrophy. I've never had it effect me the way it's effected my mom and brother, but they're older than me so I figured pain would come from it in time.

On Friday (6 days ago) I woke up and my right eye was ridiculously sore. My mom helped me describe it as a pain that feels like I have razors in my eye.. Eventually I noticed that where it was hurting there was popped blood vessels (and I wasn't sure if they popped because I was rubbing my eye, or if I was rubbing my eye because they had popped). Anyways, I went to a clinic the next day and the doctor couldn't see anything in my eye, and gave me some anti-inflammatory eyedrops. She told me if it still hurt the next day (Sunday), to come back in and she'd look again because sometimes things don't show up on the first time. It did still hurt but I haven't had time to go back. Now it's Wednesday and my eye doesn't really hurt very much at all, but I'm worried that something is lodged in my eye and could cause some more serious damage.. Or could it just be pain from having Corneal Dystrophy? I don't know if I should waste another whole day in the doctors office or not!

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Dear evergreen19,

Without knowing specifically, about the corneal dystrophy that runs in your family, I would recommend that you seek the care of a corneal specialist to address your symptoms.
