Subretinal neovascularization is abnormal blood vessels which grow under the retina most commonly in macular
degenerationMacular degeneration. This is also known as "wet" macular
degenerationMacular degeneration.
There are several possible treatments including laser and surgery. The most important variables in the success of these treatments include the
duration of the blood vessels, their location under the retina and the underlying disease.
For more specifics about any treatment, the patient needs to see a retina specialist and have his individual case evaluated.
