Corrective surgery for Amblyopia?

I have a +8.00 in my left eye and a +6.50 in the right. My left eye is effected by amblyopia and points away from my nose with contact lenses in ...it points towards my nose without contact lenses. I can close my right eye and make my left eye do the work. Then open my right eye and keep focus with the left, but this causes my right eye to be away from my nose and out of focus.( with contacts in). I am hoping there is a procedure that could make my left eye better so it can at least point straight. I did eye patching when i was a kid but my parents didnt enforce it enough for it to make it much better.
also ive noticed that if i close my right eye in the dark and look with my left it picks up more light than my right eye im not sure what that is from or means just thought id throw that in there....i do excercises with my left eye i guess so i can understand whats wrong with it on my own a little better....if anyone can explain things better to me or give any suggestions it'd be greatly appreciated

First, you should see an ophthalmologist who performs gonioscopy to make sure you do not have narrow angle glaucoma given the degree of farsightedness in your eyes.  Second, you should go see a pediatric ophthalmologist or strabismus surgeon to see if they can straighten the eye surgically.
