Crystalens uv protection

I just had the crystalens implanted in my left eye and am looking forward to the right.  I have 20/20 vision in the left eye and excellent vision all the way down to middle vision.  Near vision is improving. I can begin to read with that eye.  There is no glare at night and I've driving without correction since the day after surgery.  I'm only 1 week post surgery and they tell me that the near vision will improve.  I wasn't allowed to read without reading glasses until this week because the doctor said he'd experienced some problems with the lense flexing to the top of the range and getting stuck when it was pushed before healing was better. I had 20/40 and 20/45 vision before but was so near sighted that presbyopia only pushed my reading distance out about 2 feet and I couldn't read fine print without glasses. I am concerned about the uv protection because I'm a plein air artist.  Sunglasses are out for that purpose but I'm going to get a prescription for a noncorrective clear lense with uv coating and glare protection coating.  They'll cost as much as a regular pair of glasses but should be worth it for me.  Has anyone else tried this?  Other than this I'm ecstatic.  I can't remember seeing this good.  I know that my vision was bad sometime in childhood because I had trouble seeing the board in grade school and had bad headaches every day.  But it wasn't discovered until I applied for a driver's liscense.  Now I'm 67 and everything is bright and new and I can see without glasses.  It's very hard for me to break the habit of looking for my glasses when I leave the house.
