Cyst behind my eye

Cyst behind my eye

Hello,

I recently went to the doctor regarding my excruciating headaches I have been having for the past few years. I have done a MRI test and a Catscan a couple of days ago and found out today that I have two large cysts behind my eyes. The doctor told me that I need surgery to remove them. I also have bad eye site (around 10-20, my power is -4.50 in contacts). Would the cysts being removed cure my unbarable headaches and possibly make my vision better? Also what is the procedure of the surgery? I am very nervous because I have never had surgery before.

Thanks!

You are going to have to be a LOT more specific since I really can't tell what you are talking about, perhaps a cavernous hemangioma which is the most common tumor behind the eye.  I really cannot make any recommendations since I don't know your specific findings.  You should see an oculoplastic surgeon that specializes in orbital tumors at a major university teaching hospital.  You can find on on the aao.org website.
